Pocket Rogues: Ultimate combines real-time dungeon combat with a fortress that supports later adventures. This FAQ explains the mobile purchase, changing layouts, item categories and several recent rule changes that can make an older guide misleading. Start here before deciding what to upgrade or why a run ended.

1. Is combat turn based?
No. Movement and attacks happen in real time, so reading an enemy and choosing a safe route matter alongside equipment. The mobile listing describes dodging, traps and flanking as part of the action. A useful learning session is one in which you recognize a dangerous situation sooner, even if it does not reach a new depth. Do not judge a new class only by how quickly it clears the first room.

2. Will a video show the route in my dungeon?
The game generates locations, encounters and loot procedurally. A video can demonstrate an enemy behavior or a way to approach a trap, but it cannot guarantee the same corridor or item in your next attempt. Separate the lesson from the layout: look for open retreat space, inspect a room before committing and remember which hazard ended the previous attempt. Those habits transfer between maps better than memorizing every turn.

3. What carries the longer progression?
The fortress lets you construct and improve buildings that open classes, strengthen heroes and add mechanics. That makes dungeon learning and base development complementary parts of the game. Before spending, read what the next building level actually changes and ask whether that benefit addresses your current obstacle. Unlocking another option is useful when you intend to use it; it does not automatically make the character already struggling in a particular encounter stronger.

4. Why can I not equip a Treasure?
The current mobile notes introduce Treasures as a sale category rather than equipment or consumables. Their value is economic, so searching for an equip slot or a hidden combat use is the wrong next step. Read an item description before discarding it merely because it lacks a useful stat. Keep the distinction clear when comparing loot: something valuable to sell and something valuable to wear can both be worthwhile for different reasons.

5. Does a dash protect me for its entire animation?
No. The current notes restrict invulnerability to the first 60 percent of the dash animation. An older explanation that treats the whole motion as protected can therefore produce avoidable hits. Think about the landing position as well as the initial escape: a dash ending inside another attack or beside a trap remains risky. Practice the timing against an attack you recognize, instead of repeatedly dashing because a room feels crowded.

6. Can an Obsidian Shard always rescue a boss attempt?
The mobile notes make this conditional. It can leave a boss arena entered through a gate on a floor, but it does not work for the bosses between locations in the Obsidian Tower. Check which encounter you are entering before planning around a retreat item. Having a shard is not evidence that every boss has an escape route, and an untested assumption about retreat should not replace preparing your equipment and recovery options.

7. Where should I look for the Goblin Larder?
Its gate is listed only in the Abandoned Prison. It is a single-room sub-location, so searching unrelated areas because a general guide mentions a new dungeon wastes effort. Procedural generation still matters: the location restriction does not supply a guaranteed floor or a fixed map coordinate. If a run does not show the gate, check the installed version and the location name before concluding that the feature is missing.

8. What should I verify before buying or troubleshooting?
The checked US listing is a paid download at $2.99 and also marks in-app purchases. Prices and regional availability can change, so use the purchase screen for your actual decision. The game contains fantasy combat and pixelated blood or violence. For a fault report, record the iOS version, device, game build and the action that failed. Avoid deleting an app or overwriting a save as the first experiment; establish what recovery options are actually available first.

| Old assumption | Current check |
|---|---|
| Dash is fully protected | Only its initial 60 percent is invulnerable |
| Any boss can be escaped | Shard support depends on the arena entry |
| New loot must be equipment | Treasures are intended for selling |
Read the item or update rule that applies to the exact encounter. A familiar name does not guarantee unchanged behavior.
