1 What is in the Infernal Edition
Three things in one purchase. Blizzard lists the acclaimed remaster of Diablo II, its Lord of Destruction expansion, and the brand new Reign of the Warlock DLC.
The remaster preserves the original land of Sanctuary while adding modern 3D graphics, remastered audio and updated cinematics. The DLC is where the genuinely new material lives: a new class, an overhauled endgame, fresh mechanics and quality of life updates.
| Component | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Diablo II: Resurrected | The base campaign, remastered |
| Lord of Destruction | The classic expansion, included rather than sold separately |
| Reign of the Warlock | New class, new uniques, sets and runewords, reworked endgame and quality of life features |
2 Do you need to own anything else
No. This is the complete package rather than an add on, which is worth stating clearly because the name sounds like an expansion.
If you have never played Diablo II, this single purchase is the whole thing. If you already own the earlier release of Resurrected, check the store to see how the DLC is offered to you before buying this bundle again.
3 The new Warlock class
The Warlock is described as a master of shadow who turns the power of the Burning Hells against itself, and it brings the roster to eight classes. It commands forbidden power through three distinct paths.
| Path | Focus |
|---|---|
| Demon | Enslaving hellspawn and binding them into loyal allies that fight for you |
| Eldritch | Channelling mental magics into ordinary weapons to make them conduits of force |
| Chaos | Raw fire and shadow, raining elemental destruction from a distance |
Those three cover a summoner, a melee hybrid and a ranged caster, so the class can be built in very different directions rather than being one archetype.
4 What changed in the endgame
Blizzard names several specific changes: Terror Zone updates, a Colossal Ancients fight, reworked enemy difficulty scaling, and new mechanics intended to reward strategy and class mastery.
There is also a Chronicle system, which shows every item you have collected across your whole account and rewards completionists with exclusive bonuses. For a game whose long tail is item hunting, an account wide record is a bigger addition than it sounds.
5 Multiplayer and cross platform
The store lists single player, multiplayer, co-op, online co-op and cross platform multiplayer, with games supporting up to eight players. Seasonal ladder resets give a periodic fresh start with new challenges and leaderboards to compete on.
It is worth understanding that the ladder is the competitive heart of this game rather than a side mode. A new season is where most of the community starts fresh at the same time, which is the best moment to join if you care about playing alongside other people.
6 Price, platform and languages
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Released | 11 February 2026 |
| List price | USD 39.99 |
| Developer and publisher | Blizzard Entertainment |
| Achievements | 43 |
| Languages | Twelve, all listed with full audio support |
Twelve languages with full voice acting is unusually complete, and reflects that this is a remaster of a title that was localised heavily in its own time.
7 System requirements and the connection
The minimum is Windows 10, a Core i3-3250 or FX-4350, 8 GB of memory and a GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7850. The recommended tier asks for a Core i5-9600K or Ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB of memory and a GTX 1060 or RX 5500 XT. Storage is 43 GB either way.
8 Accessibility options
This is one of the better lists on any action RPG store page. Adjustable text size, colour alternatives, subtitle options, custom volume controls, a mouse only option, adjustable pace, playable without timed input, and full controller support are all present.
The mouse only option deserves a mention on its own. Diablo II was designed to be played almost entirely with a mouse, and keeping that intact rather than forcing a modern control scheme is part of what the remaster preserved.
9 The cross game rewards
Buying this edition also unlocks items in two other Blizzard games: the Kervek the Putrid pet and the Forbidden Tethers back trophy in Diablo IV, and a Horadric Cube housing item in World of Warcraft.
These are cosmetic and require you to already play those games. Treat them as a bonus rather than as part of the value, since they do nothing at all if Sanctuary is the only place you visit.
One purchase covering the Diablo II remaster, the Lord of Destruction expansion, and the new Reign of the Warlock DLC. The Warlock is an eighth class with Demon, Eldritch and Chaos paths, and the DLC also reworks the endgame with Terror Zone updates, a Colossal Ancients fight and an account wide Chronicle collection system. It supports up to eight players with cross platform multiplayer and seasonal ladder resets, lists a broadband connection in both requirement tiers, costs USD 39.99, and carries an unusually thorough accessibility list.
