The achievement list for IRON NEST doubles as a map of the campaign. It names fifteen operations, gives each one a gold medal achievement, and describes four different outcomes for a city. This page organises that list and explains what it tells you about the structure. The achievement names and descriptions are from the official Steam list. Section 4 discusses outcomes, so skip it if you want to avoid any hint about how the story can end.

1 How the campaign escalates

Reviews describe a campaign that keeps adding responsibilities rather than simply making targets harder. Combining PCGamesN, FinalBoss and Game8, the progression runs roughly like this.

1
Known coordinates
Static targets with the position given, to learn the basic procedure.
2
Unknown targets
Spotter reports that must be combined to locate the enemy.
3
Support work
Specialised rounds such as smoke and gas to help troops rather than destroy targets, and a second gun introduced mid campaign.
4
Pressure
Timed bombardments, moving targets such as trains, manual engine startup, reduced reconnaissance and competing objectives.

Game8 warns that later missions feel noticeably more demanding than the early pacing suggests. If an operation suddenly feels much harder, that is the design, not a sign you missed something.

2 The fifteen operations

Fifteen operation names appear in the gold medal achievements, which matches the fifteen regions on the store page. Fourteen of them also have an achievement for completing the operation. The table uses the order Steam displays, which is not necessarily the order you play them, apart from Calibration Fire, whose name and achievement mark it as the opening calibration.

3 Medals and gold

The store lists more than 100 unlockable medals. Every operation has its own set, and each gold achievement asks you to earn gold on all medals in that operation, not just to finish it. Fifteen of the 33 achievements are gold sets, which makes them the bulk of a full completion.

Finish first, polish later
Gold on every medal is a replay goal. Complete the campaign once to learn every system, then return to operations with the tools and habits you have built. Early operations are much easier to gold once the later ones have taught you precision.

4 The four fates of a city

✕
Mild spoiler This section quotes achievement descriptions that hint at how events can turn out. No story details beyond the official list are included.

Four achievements have no operation name attached. Each describes a different fate for a city, which shows that the outcome is not fixed.

A City Silent
A city wiped from the map.
A City in Celebration
A city that comes out to meet you.
A City Subdued
A city that kneels, and calls it peace.
The Road Not Taken
A city spared, and a road no one else will ever walk.

Game8 describes the operator as having little real choice for most of the campaign, with that changing only at the final mission. Read together with these four achievements, the practical advice is simple: a single playthrough ends one way, so expect to replay the ending if you want every outcome.

5 Beyond the campaign

After the story, the store lists two challenge modes with leaderboards and procedurally generated objectives for endless replayability. Game8 confirms challenge missions with online leaderboards as the main source of replay value. None of the 33 achievements refer to the challenge modes, so they are purely for score and practice.

✓
Use challenges as training Because objectives are generated, challenge mode is a good place to practise plotting and loading without replaying a story operation. The habits carry straight over to gold medal attempts.

6 Planning a full completion

GroupCountWhen
Operation completions14First playthrough
City outcomes4One per ending, replays needed
All gold medals per operation15Replays after learning the systems

A realistic plan is to play the story blind, note which city outcome you reached, then work through gold medals operation by operation, and replay the final stretch for the remaining outcomes. Keep a note of which operations already have full gold, since the achievement names such as Order of Merit and Master Gunner do not say which operation they belong to.

Summary

IRON NEST has 33 achievements: 14 for completing named operations, 15 for earning gold on every medal in an operation, and 4 for different fates of a city. The campaign escalates from known coordinates to spotter triangulation, support rounds, a second gun, moving targets and reduced support. Play the story first, use the generated challenge modes to practise, chase gold medals once you know every system, and replay the ending for the remaining city outcomes.
