Among Us 3D takes the Crewmates versus Impostors game and puts you inside it in first person. It is developed by Schell Games and Innersloth and published by Innersloth. The 3D version began in virtual reality, and this release brings it to ordinary PC screens on Steam. This page answers the common questions. 1 What is Among Us 3D
A party game of teamwork and betrayal for groups of 4 to 10. Crewmates try to finish their tasks or vote out the Impostor, while Impostors sabotage, deceive and eliminate Crewmates. The store lists the familiar pieces, tasks, sabotages, Emergency Meetings and venting, now in 3D, with Crewmate tasks reimagined for first person controls and some new tasks added.
2 Does it work with the original Among Us
No. The store repeats this more than once: Among Us 3D is not compatible with the original game and has no crossplay with it. Its in game currency, Stardust, also cannot be converted to or from the original game currencies. Treat it as a separate game with its own player base.
3 Can I play with VR players
Yes. The store describes native crossplay with Among Us 3D: VR players. According to Wikipedia, the VR version launched in November 2022 on Quest 2 and SteamVR and reached PlayStation VR2 in December 2023, and the flat screen PC version followed on Steam in May 2025. It is an online game: the store lists a broadband connection as a requirement and online PvP and co-op categories.

5 Voice chat and safety
The store lists three ways to communicate. There is native proximity voice chat, so voices are heard based on how close players are. There is Quick Text Chat for players who prefer not to talk, and a gesture system for expressing yourself with your hands. Private lobbies work without external chat apps, and the store mentions customisable comfort, safety and moderation settings.
6 Are there purchases in game
Yes, for cosmetics. You can customise your Crewmate with colours, hats, gloves and skins, and the store explains that Stardust, a purchasable in game currency, buys additional cosmetics. The store lists In-App Purchases among its categories. Nothing in the store description ties purchases to gameplay advantages.
7 Requirements, languages and reception
The minimum is 64 bit Windows 10, an Intel i5-4590, 8 GB of memory, a GTX 1060, 2.5 GB of storage and a broadband connection. Nine languages are supported, including Japanese, Korean and both forms of Chinese.
Wikipedia records that the VR version scored 82 on Metacritic, sold over a million copies by January 2023 and won a Webby Award for Best Social Gaming Experience in 2023. Those figures are for VR; this flat screen Steam release has its own user reviews, around 3,000 at the time of writing, so check the current Steam rating before buying.
Among Us 3D is the first person version of the Crewmates versus Impostors party game for 4 to 10 players, at a list price of USD 9.99 on Steam. It is not compatible with the original Among Us but has crossplay with the VR version. It offers Classic and Tag Mode, roles including Engineer, Wraith and Vigilante, the maps The Skeld 2 and Polus Point, proximity voice, text chat and gestures, and cosmetic purchases with Stardust.
