Begin with one character and a learning task you can repeat, then add team actions. The official learning guide and released corrections give a useful sequence without supplying a universal best team. This guide separates individual control, defensive context and Assist or Tag behavior while respecting the version of each source.
- Learn one character before changing the whole team
- Use Basics and Assemble for different questions
- Check the active binding rather than memorizing an old label
- Practice the current dash-input condition
- Separate guarding from a defensive team action
- Add Assist and Tag behavior one at a time
- Read a Character Lesson objective in its corrected context
- Make a current replay and review one repeatable event
1. Learn one character before changing the whole team
The developer learning guide recommends beginning with a favorite character and expanding from there. The current store encourages team experiments, but does not certify one universally strongest composition. Keep the main character stable while learning the actions you can perform consistently. This is an editorial practice method grounded in the documented training structure, not a tier list or a numerical claim that every character is equally easy to learn.

2. Use Basics and Assemble for different questions
Startup Battle separates individual actions from team mechanics. Identify which section addresses the action you are trying to understand, then follow the installed lesson and controls. The August 28 patch fixes particular crashes when transitioning into learning battles. A transition correction is separate from whether an action meets the lesson objective. If the exercise starts normally but does not clear, inspect its actual current requirement before diagnosing every problem as a crash.

3. Check the active binding rather than memorizing an old label
The store advertises traditional and quick inputs, with adjustable controls and easy chain combos. Confirm the action name and your current device binding before practicing it. Developer examples can use platform-specific button labels, and pre-release material reflects its own build. An input that works on a default PS5 diagram does not establish the same physical key for every PC configuration. Hold the action constant when comparing two control styles.

4. Practice the current dash-input condition
The August 21 correction changes dash and backdash double-direction inputs so they must pass through the neutral position. Check that condition if repeatedly holding or transitioning a direction does not produce the expected movement. It is a specific released input rule, not a universal statement about every command buffer or controller. Avoid replacing the lesson with an invented timing value. Observe the current input and action before adding another team mechanic.

5. Separate guarding from a defensive team action
The released August update corrects Crossover failing when a button was held while guarding. That matters because the guarded state is part of the named problem. Practice the relevant defense in the installed learning mode rather than assuming every identical button combination has the same effect outside guard. The correction does not establish a guaranteed answer to every incoming attack. Keep the state, binding and observed response visible in the comparison.

6. Add Assist and Tag behavior one at a time
Team composition, assists and character switching expand the battle beyond one moveset. August 21 fixes a case where Assist cooldown did not complete after a member change. The later director message discusses future frequency adjustments. Learn the current Assist response before repeatedly switching several members and attributing every failure to team strength. A corrected cooldown condition and a proposed longer cooldown are different facts from different stages of development.

7. Read a Character Lesson objective in its corrected context
August 21 changes specific Green Goblin mission conditions and fixes Deadpool lesson checks that could clear incorrectly or fail to recognize the intended action. A mission number or old video therefore does not by itself prove the present requirement. Read the current objective, character state and actual action. This guide does not invent a full combo route or treat a historical unintended completion as the current expected way to pass.

8. Make a current replay and review one repeatable event
After a useful practice session, inspect one event: movement, a defended action, an Assist or the learning objective. Keep the version attached to that comparison because older replays become inaccessible after the August updates. A locally retained file is not guaranteed playable. The director also describes continuing discoveries and intended balance work, so one match result does not justify declaring a permanent best team or blaming every loss on a known input issue.

| Learning problem | Relevant comparison |
|---|---|
| An action does not appear | Current binding, neutral input and character state |
| A team action differs | Assist cooldown correction versus planned balance |
| A lesson or replay fails | Corrected objective and replay version boundary |
Repeat one action in the same context. Then add a team action so you can identify what changed and which current rule matters.
