Tower Dominion Towers and Placement Guide

Evaluate towers by the route they cover and the contribution they make in the current run. This reference adds the official damage display and reinforcement-control changes while removing unsupported claims that one tower or elevation is universally best.

Checked 26 October 2026 against the official Steam store and dated PC patch notes through 1.66. Suggested review routines below are editorial guidance, not tested optimal builds.

1. Start with a role, not a tier list

The official store describes faction-specific arsenals and different enemy strengths and weaknesses. Begin with the job that needs doing: covering an approach, increasing effective damage against a visible threat, or supporting the rest of the defense. Then read the current building information. A familiar name from an older community layout is not enough to establish the best purchase in the current reward set. This guide does not rank Bunker, Bastion, Warwolf or Puma as an unconditional winner, and does not assign an exact height or upgrade branch without a verified current rule.

2. Compare position and path together

Terrain editing means the proposed building position and the enemy route should be reviewed as one decision. Inspect the range shown by the game, the approach it covers and the section it leaves open. If you edit the ground afterward, repeat that check rather than assuming the original coverage remains useful. A longer route only helps when the defense can actually influence it. A high tile only helps when the building and target relationship makes the position valuable. These are evaluation questions, not a mathematical proof that the highest tile or a crossroads always pays for itself.

3. Leave room to respond to pits

The August pit update means an enclosed road ending cannot automatically be treated as harmless space behind a completed maze. Inspect any pit created while shaping the route, then include it in the coverage plan. The same update introduced irregular platform shapes, so a layout should be adapted to the pieces actually received. Do not force a screenshot into a run with a different terrain supply. Reviewing the generated battlefield after each change is more dependable than assuming every unwanted approach can be removed with no new threat.

4. Use the damage display as a diagnostic tool

The live damage ranking can reveal which defenses are contributing, but raw totals do not by themselves explain the reason. Compare positions, the enemies they could reach and the stage of the run in which they were present. Patch 1.64 added a separate damage entry for Laethissia and made each tank factory display the damage of its own production. Keep those entries distinct when checking a combined force. A low number is a prompt to inspect coverage and role before replacing a building; it is not an automatic verdict that the building is useless.

5. Distinguish reward control from attack upgrades

Attenuator and Amplifier influence reinforcement rewards. In 1.64, selecting an Advanced version was made to affect the ordinary type too. Check that scope before using the control to pursue a particular build. These tools do not replace a tower already needed to stop the next wave, and their description does not establish a guaranteed sequence of future offers. The useful planning question is whether shaping later choices is worth the current opportunity cost. Keep that decision separate from improving an existing weapon or changing the terrain around it.

6. Read current costs before repeating an old build

Patch 1.66 changed several upgrade prices and headquarters or pit values. For example, Puma position Enhanced targeting fell from 80 to 70 Recon, and the headquarters Operations room health bonus rose from 30 to 40. These are dated reference changes, not a complete current balance table or a recommendation to buy either option in every run. When comparing an older build, check the cost and effect currently displayed instead of reserving exactly the resource amount shown in a past recording. An upgrade can remain useful while its timing changes.

7. Review whether a purchase solved its intended problem

Before buying, state the shortage in simple terms: an approach is uncovered, a target survives the covered stretch, or the headquarters needs support. After the next wave, check whether that shortage changed. If several purchases and terrain edits happen at once, keep a note of them so their effects are not confused. This is an editorial way to compare decisions rather than a fixed optimal sequence. It avoids the old rule that an existing tower must always be upgraded whenever it can see the road; new coverage, a different role or an urgent defensive need can justify another choice.

CheckWhat to compare
PositionDoes the current range cover the threat you intend to answer?
Terrain changeDid the route or a new pit alter the job?
Damage displayWhich entry belongs to this building or its production?
Reward controlDoes the Advanced selection also affect the regular type?
UpgradeDo the current cost and effect match the old guide?
