Q What kind of game is it

A dark fantasy action RPG with side on combat and an interconnected world. You play an Inquisitor in a kingdom called Faelduum, built from one of six classes, and you fight through a bestiary of monsters toward a story with multiple endings.

The combat is described by the developers as soulslike: dodging, parrying and striking on timing rather than trading blows. Progression runs through six Talent Trees with hundreds of upgrades, plus crafted weapons and gear.

So the shape is two things at once. Reflex driven fights, and a build you keep tuning between them. If either half alone is what you want, it is worth knowing that both are present in roughly equal measure.

Q Is it too hard for a newcomer

The difficulty can be tuned in the settings
The developers state this directly: if you are new to action RPGs or soulslike games, you can adjust the difficulty to your skill level. That single option removes the usual reason to avoid the genre, and it is easy to miss because most games of this type refuse to offer it.

This matters for the buying decision more than any review score. A reader who bounced off harder games in this style is not necessarily the wrong audience here, because the wall that stopped them is adjustable rather than fixed.

Q Can I try before buying

Yes. A free demo is published separately on the same store. At USD 19.99 this is not an impulse purchase, and combat feel is the sort of thing no description settles.

Use it to answer one question specifically: does the dodge and parry timing feel readable to you? Everything else about the game can be learned or adjusted. That feel cannot.

Q Price, platform and requirements

ItemMinimumRecommended

Storage18 GB18 GB

Windows only. No Mac or Linux build is listed. DirectX 12 is required, and a 64-bit system is mandatory. Controller support is full, including DualShock and DualSense handling, and Remote Play on TV is supported.

Thirteen interface languages are listed, with English carrying full voice acting. Steam Cloud saves are supported.

Q How much content is there

The developers list 60 quests and 75 unique locations, six classes with their own Talent Trees, and hundreds of craftable weapons and items. There are 85 achievements.

Because the story is described as having multiple endings and six distinct classes exist, the replay surface is real rather than nominal. A second run as a different class is a different game to play, not just a different colour of the same one.

Q Who made it

Development is by Primal Game Studio, published by Knights Peak, released on 17 April 2025. The store credits the narrative to writer Brian Mitsoda, and the score to composer Christos Antoniou performed with the FILMharmonic Orchestra Prague.

Those credits are worth noting because they set expectations correctly. This is presented as a story led game with an orchestral score, not a combat sandbox with a plot attached.

Summary

A USD 19.99 dark fantasy action RPG for Windows from Primal Game Studio and Knights Peak, released April 2025. Six classes, six Talent Trees, 60 quests, 75 locations and 85 achievements, with soulslike timing based combat. Two facts change the buying decision: a free demo is available, and the difficulty is adjustable in the settings, so the usual barrier to the genre is not fixed here.
