Q What are you actually doing
You are a guardian of a collection of possessed dolls. One of them is an impostor, and your job is to identify it before nine in the morning.
The method is deduction rather than combat: find the clues the impostor leaves behind, study how the dolls move, and eliminate candidates until one remains. The dolls are described as having their own objectives, preferences, friendships, enmities, loves and hatreds, so their behaviour is not random noise.
The complication that makes it a real puzzle is that dolls can move each other, and can destroy each other. Finding one doll out of its box does not mean that doll moved itself.
Q Can the jumpscares be turned off
The underlying game is a logic puzzle with a deadline. Turning off the sudden shocks removes a layer of presentation without removing the thing you are actually playing.
Q Solo, co-op or against other players
All three are listed. The store features include single-player, online co-op for up to four guardians, and online player versus player.
That last one changes the character of the game considerably, because a human impostor behaves differently from a scripted one. Steam Leaderboards and Stats are also supported, which suggests the competitive side is meant to be taken seriously rather than being a bonus mode.
Q There are in app purchases. What are they
This is flagged here rather than judged. Plenty of paid games carry that tag for optional cosmetics. The point is simply that the tag exists on a game most buyers would assume is a single purchase, and the store page does not explain it.
Q Requirements, VR and languages
| Item | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10, 64-bit | Windows 10, 64-bit |
| CPU | AMD FX-8320 | Ryzen 5 3600 |
| Memory | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| Graphics | Radeon R7 200 series | GTX 1660 |
| Storage | 18 GB | 18 GB |
VR support is listed for OpenXR, SteamVR and Meta Quest 3s, and the recommended column adds a broadband connection, which fits the online modes. Windows only.
The language list is unusually long, covering English with full audio plus both European and Latin American Spanish, French, Italian, German, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and a number of European languages. Full controller support including DualShock and DualSense is listed, along with Steam Cloud and Trading Cards. There are 209 achievements, which for a game built on repeated nights of deduction is a completion list rather than a formality. Released 28 March 2024 by David Gallardo, published by HeadArrow.
A USD 11.99 horror deduction game for Windows where one to four guardians must identify an impostor among possessed dolls before nine in the morning. Solo, online co-op and online player versus player are all supported, along with VR through OpenXR, SteamVR and Meta Quest 3s. Jumpscares can be disabled. Two things to check before buying: the store lists In-App Purchases despite the price, and it needs 18 GB of storage.
