DragonSword : Awakening is the Steam action RPG, not a continuation of an old mobile account. Purchase model, character acquisition, co-op and controls have different sources and update dates. These answers use the released 1.0-series notes and keep the announced October 15 version 1.1 features separate.

1. Is this gacha, and do I need character purchases?
The official July FAQ identifies a buy-to-play game with no gacha and says the 19 launch heroes are obtainable through gameplay. Later 1.0.10 notes explicitly discuss hero acquisition through quest rewards and an Exchange Shop, so obtainable through play does not mean that every character joins immediately at the same story step. Cosmetic and Familiar DLC exists separately. Use the acquisition information for the hero you want rather than assuming a paid random draw is required.

2. Which version and platform does this page cover?
This guide covers the Steam Windows release of DragonSword : Awakening. The developer FAQ distinguishes it from Dragon Nest and from previous service versions, with no old-account data linkage. Console plans are not a release announcement, and an earlier mobile service is not a mobile version of this Steam package. The Steam language table also distinguishes interface text from full audio: Korean is marked for full audio, while English and Japanese are supported text languages.

3. Can I play co-op or is it single-player only?
The July FAQ describes a single-player package, but later released patch notes document multiplayer Hunt and Raid lobbies. Read those dated statements together rather than carrying the older answer forward unchanged. Update 1.0.11 adds party-leader Retry after a clear or wipe, version-mismatch notices and lobby improvements. Those notes establish co-op for named activities; they do not establish that the whole open-world story is a seamless shared campaign.

4. How do I get past the tree in the tutorial?
Stand at the blocking tree and use Interact, then move forward to push it. The official FAQ gives keyboard F followed by W, or Xbox-controller Y followed by the left stick forward. Pressing the interaction button alone misses the second part of that instruction. If you changed controls, use the corresponding actions in your bindings rather than resetting everything. This is a specific documented solution, not a general suggestion to restart the tutorial whenever an interaction seems stuck.

5. What is Just Dodge and where is its explanation?
Update 1.0.11 adds a reward for a perfectly timed dodge: one second of invincibility, three seconds of guaranteed critical hits, 10 percent Active Skill Rage recovery and recovery of half the dodge stamina cost. The in-game explanation is under Help, Combat Controls, Basic Controls, Just Dodge. Those are published values for that update, not a guessed timing window in milliseconds. Read the help and practice timing against an attack you can recognize before combining it with a more complicated hero rotation.

6. Where do purchased costumes and Familiars appear?
The official FAQ directs Familiar owners to Main Menu, Codex, Familiar, then the purchased Familiar. Costumes are accessed through Main Menu, Heroes, the corresponding character, then Costume. Check the item category and the character first instead of looking for both purchases in one inventory tab. Promotional distribution periods are separate from ownership: the summer free-Familiar window should not be advertised as a current free offer after its stated end date.

7. Does it support Workshop, and is Ryza playable now?
The August 25 notice retracts the earlier detailed mod guidelines and says Workshop direction will be reconsidered; it is not an announcement of live Workshop support. Separately, the October 8 preview schedules Ryza as the 20th hero for version 1.1 on October 15. On October 11 that hero and the previewed Training Ground remain upcoming. Check the actual release notes after the date, because the preview itself says development content may differ from the delivered update.

8. What should I check for stutters, missing progress or co-op faults?
Confirm installation on an SSD and compare the PC with the Steam requirements before assuming one graphics preset fixes everything. Update 1.0.11 states that achievements earned offline unlock on Steam when you reconnect. For multiplayer, make sure party members are using the same build and note whether the fault happens while joining, in the activity or when collecting rewards. Report the activity and build together; patch-specific reports are much easier to distinguish from an old launch issue.

| Need | Documented place or scope |
|---|---|
| Push tutorial tree | Interact, then move forward |
| Just Dodge help | Help > Combat Controls > Basic Controls |
| Co-op retry | Party leader in Hunt or Raid |
A dated FAQ can become incomplete. Check the later applied patch notes before using a launch statement to answer a current multiplayer or control question.
