1 Do you need the first game
No. Teyon describes this as a standalone extension set after the events of RoboCop: Rogue City. Standalone is the operative word: it is a separate purchase that runs on its own rather than a DLC that requires the original installed.
You will understand the setup without having played the first game, but you will not get the callbacks. The story opens with the previous antagonist already defeated, so a little context is assumed even though nothing is required.
2 What the story is
OCP has built the OmniTower, a massive housing complex meant to serve the residents of Old Detroit. A group of highly trained mercenaries with cutting edge weapons seizes the building and turns it into a fortress, and RoboCop goes in to stop them.
That is a tight, contained premise: one building, one siege, one law enforcement problem. It is a noticeably different shape from an open city, and it is the reason the game can afford so many distinct enemy types.
3 What is new in the OmniTower
Teyon lists a specific set of threats rather than a generic promise of more enemies.
| Threat | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Drones and exploding bots | Danger from angles a ground based shooter usually ignores |
| Anti-personnel turrets and traps | Every floor is described as riddled with them, so pushing forward blindly is punished |
| Minigun armoured squads | Sustained fire that rewards using cover rather than walking through it |
| Jet pack special forces | Enemies that reposition vertically inside a building |
| Katana wielding foes | Melee pressure, described as looking more machine than man |
On the other side, the arsenal includes the iconic Auto-9 and an all new Cryo Cannon, plus finishing moves that use RoboCop as a physical object rather than a gun platform.
4 Playing as Murphy and as ED-209
Two variations on the main character are promised. Some missions take place before he became RoboCop, as police officer Alex Murphy, described as brave and resolute but vulnerable on the beat. Peter Weller provides the voice.
Elsewhere you step into ED-209 and use the urban pacifier directly, with the store noting dryly that this time criminals will not get twenty seconds to comply.
5 Content warning
The developer notice is unusually broad and worth quoting in full rather than summarising: the game features intense violence, blood, gore, strong language, use of tobacco, use of alcohol and use of fictive drugs.
That is consistent with the source material, which was never aimed at younger players. Treat it as an adult action game.

7 System requirements
The minimum is Windows 10, a Core i3-12100F or Ryzen 5 1600, 16 GB of memory and a GTX 1060 6GB or RX Vega 56, DirectX 12 and 40 GB of storage.
The recommended tier keeps the same 16 GB of memory but asks for a Core i9-9900K or Ryzen 5 5600X with a GeForce RTX 3080 10GB or Radeon RX 6800 XT. That is a very large gap between the two graphics cards for one step, so read the minimum as genuinely minimal rather than as a comfortable target.
8 Difficulty and pace options
Adjustable difficulty is listed, along with playable at your own pace and playable without timed input. Full controller support covers DualShock and DualSense, and Steam Cloud saves are included.
For a game about an armoured character who is meant to feel unstoppable, the difficulty setting is really a dial for how much punishment you take while enjoying that fantasy. Set it where the power fantasy survives.
A standalone extension to RoboCop: Rogue City that needs no prior purchase, set entirely in the OmniTower after mercenaries seize it. New threats include drones, exploding bots, turrets, minigun squads, jet pack troops and katana wielding enemies, answered with the Auto-9, a new Cryo Cannon and physical finishing moves. There are sections as Alex Murphy before he became RoboCop, voiced by Peter Weller, and sections piloting ED-209. Single player, USD 29.99, 25 achievements, with a broad adult content notice and a steep recommended graphics tier.
