1 What is Keep on Mining!
EagleEye Games describes it as a simple incremental game. You mine rocks, the rocks drop ores, the ores become bars, and the bars pay for upgrades that let you mine more rocks.
The whole appeal is that the loop is honest about itself. There is no story, no world and no pretence. There is a number, and there are systems for making the number go up faster.
2 How you actually mine
You hover your cursor over rocks and they are mined automatically. Any rock inside the mining area spawns pickaxes that mine for you, so your cursor is really a targeting tool rather than a hammer.
That design choice matters because it removes clicking entirely. A mouse only option and playable without timed input are both listed, which makes this an unusually low effort game to have open.
3 The four progression systems
| System | What it does |
|---|---|
| Skill tree | Spend material bars on upgrades that permanently boost your stats |
| Pickaxe crafting | Use different materials to craft new pickaxes, each with better stats |
| Talent cards | Each level up gives a talent point. Spend it to reveal three random cards and keep one |
| The Mine | Once unlocked, it mines rocks and instantly crafts bars automatically |
Four systems is a lot for a game at this price, and they interlock rather than sitting side by side.
4 Does it idle
Eventually. The Mine is described by the developer as the idle mechanic of the game, and it arrives once you unlock it rather than at the start.
5 The talent card trade-off
This is the one genuinely interesting decision in the game, and the store states it plainly: choosing a card increases the talent level, but also increases rock health.
In other words every upgrade you take also makes the world harder. That turns what would be a straight power curve into a balancing act, and it is the reason this is more than a number that rises on its own.
6 Price, languages and achievements
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Released | 30 July 2025 |
| List price | USD 4.99. It has been discounted since launch |
| Developer and publisher | EagleEye Games |
| Achievements | 22, with Steam Cloud |
| Languages | Eleven, including English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese |
Single player only, with no in-app purchases listed. For an incremental game that last point is worth checking, and here the answer is clean.
7 System requirements
About as light as a Steam game gets. Windows 10 or later, a 2GHz processor, 2 GB of memory, any graphics card, and 400 MB of storage.
No recommended tier is listed, which for a game this small is reasonable rather than an omission. It will run on anything, including a work laptop.
8 Who this suits
| Good fit if | Poor fit if |
|---|---|
| You enjoy watching systems compound | You want narrative or characters |
| You want something cheap to keep in a second window | You expect it to idle from the first minute |
| You like build decisions with a downside attached | You want depth beyond a handful of systems |
A five dollar incremental game where hovering over rocks mines them and rocks inside the mining area spawn pickaxes that work for you. Progress runs through a skill tree paid for in bars, crafted pickaxes, talent cards drawn three at a time, and The Mine, which is the idle layer and must be unlocked. Every talent card taken also raises rock health, which is the central tension. Single player, 22 achievements, eleven languages, no in-app purchases, and it runs on almost anything.
