Öoo has no items in the usual sense. Your only tools are the bombs that make up your body, and the world around you. This page gathers what the Steam store, Inverse, Nintendo World Report and Wayside Shakedown confirm about those tools and the world, so you know what exists without being told where or how to use it. It also explains why the achievement list is unusually unhelpful, and does not guess what its entries require.
1 How your caterpillar grows
A round head that walks on its own. No jumping; you can only move (Inverse, Nintendo World Report).
A bomb trails behind you, making a short explosive caterpillar. Drop it and detonate it to move (Inverse).
Later you sprout a second segment, which adds a new wrinkle to the puzzles (Wayside Shakedown, Nintendo World Report).
2 What bombs can do
| Use | Source |
|---|---|
| Launch yourself upward by standing on the bomb | Wayside Shakedown, Inverse |
| Launch left or right by standing beside it | Wayside Shakedown |
| Shoot yourself up in the air and across gaps | Nintendo World Report |
| Uncover hidden paths through clever use | Steam store |
The store also says puzzle solutions change depending on how you use bombs, so a room may have more than one answer. If your approach feels awkward but works, it may simply be one of the valid solutions.
3 The world and its obstacles
Wayside Shakedown describes the setting as labyrinthine hallways inside a giant winged creature that swallowed you, and names frogs as a recurring obstacle: to make one move aside, you have to feed it a fly. The store sums up the tone as a cute yet oddly mysterious world. Fast travel exists, which suggests the map is meant to be revisited rather than cleared once in a straight line.
4 Secrets and hidden routes
Two sources confirm there is more than the main path. The store asks you to traverse the map to find hidden routes, and Inverse mentions optional endgame secrets to find after the roughly two hours it takes to reach the end. Nothing in the sources says what those secrets are, so treat the ending as an invitation to explore again rather than a final stop.
5 The 12 achievements
Fitting a game with no text, the Steam achievement list does not explain itself. Each description simply repeats the name. The list, in the order Steam shows it, is below.
| Names on Steam | Description shown |
|---|---|
| 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 | The same number as the name |
| Öo, Öoo | The same text as the name |
| Last, End | The same text as the name |
The numbered names read like milestones, and Last and End sound like they relate to the finish, but the list gives no conditions, so this page does not claim what unlocks each one. Playing through and then exploring for secrets is the natural way to collect them.
6 How to play for everything
The store also lists one add-on for Öoo. Its content is not described in the sources used here, so check the store page before buying it.
Your caterpillar grows from a head that cannot jump, to one bomb segment, to two. Bombs launch you upward or sideways, carry you across gaps and reveal hidden paths, and a room can have several solutions. The world is a maze inside a winged creature, with frogs that need a fly and fast travel for revisiting. Optional secrets wait after the ending. The 12 achievements only repeat their names, so their conditions are not stated.
