MARVEL Cosmic Invasion FAQ: Co-op, Roster & DLC

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion pairs two heroes per player with Cosmic Swap and supports local and online cooperative play. The original roster, optional released DLC and announced November content are different purchase and gameplay scopes. This FAQ explains those distinctions and the current multiplayer, hardware and readability information.

Release scope: the base game, released balance patches and the optional Cyclops & The Thing DLC. The Siege of Castle Doom is announced for November 10, 2026 and is not available at the October 13 source check.

1. What kind of game is this?

This is a beat-em-up from Tribute Games and Dotemu, with stages across Earth and the wider Marvel universe. The base roster contains 15 heroes, and Cosmic Swap lets you choose two for a level and switch between them. The core decision is how their actions complement each other during a fight, not a requirement to control the whole roster at once. Start with a pair you can recognize on screen and use their in-game move information before assuming that a favorite comic-book power works a particular way.

2. What multiplayer options does Steam list?

The store lists online co-op, shared-screen co-op, cross-platform multiplayer and Remote Play Together. The developer also describes adaptive joining and leaving. These labels distinguish available connection modes but do not establish a separate save-ownership rule for every situation or a guaranteed network quality. Decide whether you are sharing one screen, joining an online host or using Steam Remote Play before troubleshooting. A connection issue in one mode should not automatically be explained using instructions for another mode.

3. Are Cyclops and The Thing included in the original 15?

No. They are the two heroes introduced by the optional Cyclops & The Thing DLC, which the current US Steam response lists as released at a regular $3.99. The announcement describes Cyclops using diagonal beams against aerial enemies and The Thing as a mobile grappler. Separate access to these characters from the free fixes and balance changes published alongside the DLC. The same announcement includes base-game corrections, so updating your game is not identical to purchasing an expanded roster.

4. Can I use Doctor Doom or Invisible Woman now?

At the October 13 source check, The Siege of Castle Doom is announced for November 10, 2026 and its Steam entry remains coming soon. Doctor Doom, Invisible Woman and the new mode belong to that future DLC announcement. Do not plan a present team around them or mistake announcement footage for an installed character-selection option. Check the eventual release notice and your owned content when that date arrives; an announced date is still a schedule rather than proof that the content is available today.

5. How much does the base game cost?

The current US API lists the regular base-game price as $29.99. Region, currency, bundles and sales can alter the checkout amount, so compare the actual Steam package you are buying. The optional released character DLC has its own listing. A guide using those two heroes should say that it covers DLC, while a base-game starting recommendation should work with the original roster. Cosmetic palette collaborations and advertised future content should not be confused with ownership of every playable character.

6. What PC specification does the store publish?

The listed minimum includes Windows 10, 4 GB RAM and 1 GB storage, with an additional 1080p at 30 FPS note. Recommended memory is 8 GB, with a 1080p at 60 FPS note. These are developer specifications rather than measured results for your particular computer or network session. Steam lists controller support and recommends a gamepad. Use the current input prompts and displayed move list, and keep hardware performance separate from online synchronization when describing a stutter or failed action.

7. Why do the health and Focus displays look different?

A released gameplay update adds low-health highlighting, splits the Focus bar for readability and changes Special Damage numbers to red. The Hero Lab also gains palette previews and a Team Level indicator. These are concrete interface changes, so older screenshots can differ without proving that progression was lost. Spend a moment identifying the current bars and feedback before changing characters. Treat palette previews as cosmetic information and the level display as progression information rather than merging their meaning.

8. What should I check when co-op seems broken?

Released patches correct several specific multiplayer problems, including host exits, character-selection display issues and synchronization when returning to selection screens. The first patch also addresses hero-order inconsistencies between Steam Deck/Linux and other versions. Update the participants and record the host platform, connection mode and point where the problem occurs. A detailed report is more useful than assuming every freeze is a game mechanic. The game contains comic-book combat; these guides describe controls and tactical choices without graphic depictions of violence.

Practical check

Before following a roster recommendation, check whether it uses a base hero, owned DLC or an announced future character. Then confirm the connection mode and installed patch.

Key points

Choose two heroes from the content you own, use the appropriate co-op mode, and learn the current interface. Keep the original roster, released DLC and November announcement separate when comparing guides or purchases.
