Farever Heroic Guide: Medals, Infusions & Boss Changes

Heroic rewards make more sense when preparation, encounter mechanics and gear infusions are considered separately. This guide uses Call to Glory and its October corrections to explain that sequence. Numerical best-build claims and unverified drop rates are deliberately absent; current tooltips remain the reference for individual equipment effects.

Early Access: systems and balance can change. This guide uses the released Call to Glory update and corrections through October 7, 2026. The October 14 dungeon pair is scheduled; a release notice for it was not verified at this source check.

1. Treat Heroic as a changed encounter

Heroic combines maximum Veteran with altered attacks, additional hazards and sometimes extra phases. Prepare consumables and suitable gear, then look for the actual difference from the original fight. The developer recommends the Spark Cube as part of preparation, but does not establish one mandatory loadout for every class here. A clear on the easier version is useful experience, not evidence that repeating the same position and timing will handle every Heroic addition. Learn the changed condition before optimizing damage.

2. Recognize the extra pressure in Crabgantua

The preview describes roaming bubbles that slow the player, a summoned crab that destroys fragment shells, and falling rocks. These hazards interact with the original wave-survival mechanic, so ignoring the additional crab can undermine the resources you expected to use. October 1 changes bubble telegraphs, speed and frequency, and October 2 reduces the slowing duration. Use these current corrections when interpreting an older clip. The preview is explanatory material; its earlier test-branch tuning is not a substitute for the later release notes.

3. Read corrected boss signals rather than old timings

October 1 adjusts Nepsilon Water Volley telegraphs and cast time and fixes a double-volley issue. It also changes Ratsar fire visuals. October 2 reduces the health of Ratsar adds and adjusts Gatsbee Heart of the Swarm safe radius and tornado behavior. These notes explain why an older visual cue or timing demonstration can differ from the current fight. They do not establish a full guaranteed boss script. Watch the present telegraph and identify which hazard caused the failed attempt before assigning it to damage alone.

4. Plan medal spending from the actual reward

Medals of Glory are Heroic rewards and support high-level purchases and infusions. The preview describes additional medals for conditions such as first completion and grouping, while October 1 gives the specific 100-medal first-completion correction. Keep that one-time rule distinct from a repeatable reward budget. Check the current merchant and infusion cost before assuming the next clear buys a complete set. No cited source gives a fixed universal hourly medal yield, so a farming-time guarantee would go beyond the evidence.

5. Match the infusion and read the set count

Matching infusions across Epic Gear activate bonuses at two, four and six pieces. The reward preview also distinguishes the gear’s infusion bonus from the set effect and advises matching faction-themed infusions to the gear; prismatic bonuses have broader compatibility. Infusions are performed at an infusing table using medals. Check the actual compatibility and active count before spending. A single upgraded piece and an activated multi-piece set are different outcomes, so compare what you will gain at the next tier.

6. Separate set design from corrected interactions

October 7 fixes Nectar Balls triggering when entering an instance or changing gear. Other fixes concern weapons including Credence Deadeye, Beefury and Clawdius, while the known Acidic Splatter distance-finisher issue remains listed. If a planned build depends on one of these effects, check the present tooltip and the correction date before blaming the entire infusion system. This guide does not rank every weapon or presume that every summoned unit triggers all player on-hit effects; the major update itself changes those interactions.

7. Learn the confirmed October 7 additions

Ruins of Gorgon’s Hollow and Abyss of New Atlaan have an explicit release notice. That update describes Golcano Heroic volcanic boulders and Golcanito helping remove them. It also states that Spongeblob bubbles reduce breath in the Abyss Heroic encounter. These are encounter-specific pressures: an arena object and an underwater resource should not be treated as the same generic damage check. Read what the current mechanic asks you to handle before applying a solution learned in a different dungeon.

8. Verify a later dungeon before planning its reward route

The October 7 post schedules Cheese Station and Crimson Barracks for October 14, followed by more additions later in the month. The scheduled date is not a confirmed release result at this source check. Recheck the installed instance list and a current release notice before organizing a run or claiming a new reward is obtainable. Keep achievements with special Heroic conditions separate from ordinary completion rewards; the preview says such achievements can award mounts and collectibles without providing every condition here.
