Train Sim World® 6 Guide: Faults, Delays & DLC Checks

An unexpected stop can be a simulated event, a train-specific fault or a missing content setting. This guide separates those cases and gives a practical checking order. It uses the official feature scope and dated corrections rather than inventing one reset command for every locomotive.

Version scope: Train Sim World 6, its documented features and August corrections. Train Sim World 7 is a separate released title; news for 7 does not establish a feature in 6. The TSW6 FAQ contains dated launch offers and planned additions, which are kept separate from verified availability.

1. Identify whether the event belongs to Timetable

Signal Delays can hold an aspect longer than expected and produce knock-on delays or allow AI traffic to pass. The FAQ places this feature in Timetable and applies it to new and back-catalogue routes for TSW6. A delayed signal is therefore not automatically a corrupted scenario or a fault inside your cab. Observe the current signal and session context before changing equipment controls. The documentation does not give one maximum waiting time that proves every delay is a bug.

2. Read a temporary restriction as a separate condition

The FAQ describes trackside signs showing where temporary speed restrictions start and end, with the HUD responding to the restriction. Its launch scope is TSW6 routes rather than every historical add-on. Use those current cues in the game, and keep a restriction separate from a train that will not develop power. This is simulation guidance, not real-world driving procedure. An older video with a different run condition is not enough to establish that your present HUD limit is wrong.

3. Use the fault popup for the selected locomotive

Train faults are described as non-fatal, resettable events affecting the player train, not AI trains. A popup identifies that a fault has occurred so the relevant action can be taken. Support is contextual by locomotive. The FAQ lists examples such as a stalled diesel engine on the Class 150 or a dropped pantograph and open circuit breaker on BR 442. These examples are not interchangeable reset steps; follow the current identified fault and train-specific controls.

4. Keep confirmed faults separate from planned coverage

The FAQ distinguishes its supported locomotive list from trains expected to receive faults later, including Class 802 and ALP-46. That planned list should not be presented as proof that every addition has already shipped. Use the current add-on database gear-cog indication and a dated release notice when checking a particular train. Faults can be toggled in settings. For a reproducible practice session, note the setting rather than claiming a random event must occur on every run.

5. Check installation before diagnosing a missing route

For Steam, the official guide directs you to Library, the game’s Properties and DLC, where the Install checkbox controls the add-on. Wait for its download to finish, then check the current game again. A compatible entitlement and downloaded TSW6 files are separate conditions. Inspect the download queue if the installation is still pending. This step addresses missing local content; it does not resolve a route that is not compatible with the game or owned by the signed-in account.

6. Check feature support and layers before reinstalling

Announcements and passenger ambience have separate settings, including an in-cab announcement option. Older compatible routes do not automatically support every new audio feature. For missing traffic, inspect extra layer settings and required add-ons instead. The database distinguishes base locomotives, additional layers and platform differences. Reinstalling all content before these checks can obscure a simple support or selection mismatch, so identify the missing function precisely before treating it as a file problem.

7. Use corrections with their stated limits

The August 6 patch restores RailDriver anti-jitter behavior, but the developer explicitly says hardware variation means it may not resolve every unstable input. The same patch reduces texture memory load on Class 380, 802 and 220; it is not an FPS guarantee for every PC. August 24 corrects route-specific issues in Nürnberg–Ingolstadt and Thames Valley Branches. Match the selected train or route to the correction rather than treating an unrelated patch title as a fix for every performance problem.

8. Collect a precise report if the issue remains

Record the game version, route, train, mode, event or layer setting and the action that reproduces the problem. For content access, include the exact add-on and store account context; for controls, identify the device and input behavior. The Steam support guide recommends file verification for interrupted or incomplete downloads. Keep that file check separate from DLC compatibility and platform entitlement. A clear report is more useful than applying a TSW7 instruction to TSW6 or repeatedly changing unrelated settings.

Key points

Use current signals, restriction cues and fault popups. Verify train-specific support and Steam downloads, keep optional layers visible, and apply patch notes only to the issues and equipment they actually describe.
