The current game offers more than the launch-era mode descriptions suggest. Patch 3.0 changes lobbies and Story Mode, while Ranked 1.0 explains how competitive sets work. This FAQ separates current releases, optional future characters and the tools available for learning the game.

1. Which modes are available in the released game?
The current store lists Story, Arcade, Training, offline and online versus, Ranked play and an Art Gallery. It also still contains an older section saying the first Ranked season begins soon. The September Ranked 1.0 release and October Patch 3.0 provide stronger evidence for the current online features than that undated promotional sentence. Read the date and actual release content before treating every future-tense paragraph in the store as the present status of a mode.

2. Does the Year 1 Pass mean every character is out now?
The Standard overview describes twelve playable characters. The Deluxe package adds a Year 1 Pass naming Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Bolin and a character-vote winner for release across the season. That package description is not proof that all five are selectable today. The digital soundtrack and artbook also have post-launch delivery wording. Confirm a specific release notice and owned content before planning around a pass character or promising that every Deluxe item has already arrived.

3. What changed in Story Mode with Patch 3.0?
The latest notes make early CPU fights easier and increase difficulty as the story continues. The first seven fights have substantial assists: the player cannot be knocked out, health recovers, and the CPU cannot throw and has limited combo potential. Instruction popups also explain moves such as Auto Combos. These are Story-specific learning conditions, not competitive rules. Challenges are temporarily removed for reworking, so their absence should not be presented as a permanent deletion or an unknown unlock requirement.

4. What does Training Mode provide?
The store documents hitboxes, frame data and save states, alongside tutorials and Auto Combos. September adds a Flow block-mode setting, and Patch 3.0 adds or replaces some Ozai trials and tutorials. Use these current tools to check an interaction instead of copying an unverified launch combo. The presence of frame data does not establish that one recorded number applies to every support choice, character or patch; the latest Ozai changes specifically show those contexts can matter.

5. What are Open Lobbies and spectators?
Patch 3.0 upgrades private rooms to Open Lobbies, with two to sixteen players, public or invite-code access, round-time choices and configurable win limits. Joining a full game session enables spectating, with rewind and fast-forward playback control. A sixteen-player lobby is a room capacity, not a sixteen-fighter simultaneous battle. Hosts can kick or ban users and hide the lobby code for streaming. Queuing and winner-stays-on settings are explicitly future additions in the full notes.

6. Is online XP the same as rank?
The September rules say XP measures online play and does not affect rank. Rank points are accumulated through Ranked Mode, with character-specific badges. Casual uses matchmaking without the rank stakes or badges described for ranked sets. Choose the mode based on whether you want a competitive set or a practice match. A high XP total alone is not evidence that a player has reached a particular badge, and grinding casual play is not the stated route to ranked points.

7. What should I know about Flow and resources?
The store presents Flow as movement and evasion and Energy Points as a resource for enhanced specials and cinematic attacks. The official Chi tutorial introduction warns that overextending can leave the fighter Unbalanced. Patch 3.0 changes bonus Flow regeneration during hitstun and blockstun specifically for Kyoshi and Ozai. Keep these named resources and character conditions separate. This FAQ does not infer exact input sequences or gauge costs from a video introduction whose full instruction is not reproduced here.

8. Can an old character demonstration still be trusted?
Use it as a dated demonstration, then check the current version. Patch 3.0 reworks Ozai gameplay, adds Critical Hits and revises support interactions, while correcting Flow reactions and other character bugs. Zuko and Katara also receive animation changes. A different visual effect does not by itself explain a damage change, and a fixed interaction may break an older combo example. Test the exact situation in current Training Mode before recommending it as a dependable route.

| Information | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| Current mode access | Dated release over stale promotional future tense |
| Pass character | Owned package plus a verified release |
| XP / rank / badge | Different measures; Ranked points are mode-specific |
Check patch date and mode before comparing a result. Story assists, a custom lobby and a ranked set do not use an identical learning or scoring context.
