Click and Conquer FAQ: Progression, Prestige & Updates

Click and Conquer is a compact incremental game about a fictional grid, upgrades and repeated progression. The store and later updates describe the main economy, platforms and interface changes. This FAQ keeps those facts separate from unverified farming formulas and from announcements for another game by the same developer.

Version scope: the released game with the September readability and Shell Shock fix, May window-mode correction, July UI settings and August Deck announcement. Window-mode fixes have stated limitations. Gameplay discussion concerns a fictional grid simulation.

1. What is the main gameplay loop?

The store describes dropping bombs on concealed grid enemies to earn currency, then improving power, passive income and map access. Prestige resets progress in return for permanent upgrades. These are fictional simulation systems. The overview identifies two skill trees for abilities and economy, but does not provide a complete cost table or an optimal purchase order. Use the current upgrade text when deciding which part of the loop you want to improve.

2. How many maps and how much playtime are promised?

The feature list says twelve maps, while the descriptive paragraph says more than twelve. This guide retains the clear twelve-map feature count and does not invent a thirteenth map or route from that mismatch. The store estimates roughly two to four hours for the short experience. Treat that as the developer’s approximate scope rather than a guaranteed completion time: your pace, exploration of upgrades and retries can differ without indicating that progression is broken.

3. What does prestige change?

Prestige exchanges a reset of progress for stronger permanent upgrades. The store includes a late powerful bomb among the examples, but does not specify every unlock condition or an exact best reset point. Read the current prestige reward and the progress being exchanged before confirming it. Ordinary currency purchases and permanent prestige upgrades are different planning layers, so a large current balance alone is not evidence that resetting immediately gives the best result.

4. Is Steam Deck or macOS supported?

The developer announces macOS support in the August 2025 update and reiterates Steam Deck verification in August 2026. July UI work also backports Deck improvements and adds font scale options. These are compatibility and presentation statements, not measured framerate guarantees for every configuration. Check the current platform requirements and installed version when comparing a problem, and keep a control or display issue separate from the underlying upgrade economy.

5. Which interface settings have changed?

September readability work enlarges text and UI elements and adds skill-tree zoom. July later adds font scaling. The May 1.4.1 patch removes the window-size option while attempting to resolve a windowed-mode issue. These notes should be read together: an old screenshot can show a size control that the current version no longer has. Look for the present font and tree-view options instead of treating an absent historical control as a hidden progression unlock.

6. Were all old achievement problems repaired retroactively?

The June recovery notice names nine achievements that can unlock on the next launch if their requirements were already met. It explicitly says past progress cannot be verified for the rest, so those need to be earned again. Do not generalize the named recovery list to every achievement. If an expected badge is missing, compare its name and requirement with the current notice rather than assuming that restarting always grants every historical accomplishment.

7. Does every recent post add a feature to this game?

No. The August announcement promotes Mining and Dwarves, a separate title. Its release and bundle information do not add those mining mechanics to Click and Conquer. July does identify actual UI work backported into this game, which is a different claim. Read the game name and the described change before applying a shared developer announcement to your current session. A bundle offer concerns ownership, not a combined campaign or shared progression system.

8. Is windowed mode guaranteed to work on every setup?

The developer describes the May correction as an attempted fix, explains a resolution-related cause and asks players to report continuing failures. Earlier updates also tried to fix the problem. The notes do not establish that every operating system or display is now unaffected. Check the current mode and resolution when describing a failure, and keep the observed result specific. The absence of a window-size option in the current version is intentional under that patch, not proof of an incomplete install.

Read the current upgrade or setting, then match it to the relevant patch. Keep estimated playtime and attempted fixes within their stated limits.

Key points

The main loop uses currency, two upgrade trees, maps and prestige. Current UI and platform updates help access it, but do not provide an optimal formula or guarantee every older achievement and window-mode problem is repaired.
