Fatekeeper FAQ: Early Access, Controls & Updates

Fatekeeper combines first-person melee, spells and equipment progression in an evolving handcrafted world. The current patches change input layout, quick slots and skill access. This FAQ identifies what is released, what remains roadmap material and which older instructions need checking before use.

Early Access. This guide uses released patches through 0.1.3; August plans for controller support, difficulty, new campaign content and Arena Mode are not verified as released here. Publisher content notice: fantasy violence, blood and dismemberment. Graphic detail is not part of this guide.

1. Is the full campaign already available?

The store lists Early Access and the August developer log says more campaign content is planned. Treat the current narrative path and exploration as the available release, not a guarantee that every previewed area or NPC has arrived. The log places a larger content update and a first Arena iteration in the winter plan. The current regular US price is $9.99. A roadmap window is useful context but does not establish present access to those additions.

2. What are the current default attack controls?

Released patch 0.1.3 puts light and heavy attacks on the same default button: tap the left mouse button for light and hold it for heavy. Blocking moves to the right mouse button. Check your current bindings if you have customized them, because the patch describes defaults rather than overwriting every personal layout. An older guide assigning separate default attack buttons may now be out of date, while an input problem should be checked against the action actually bound.

3. How does the new radial menu work?

The radial menu offers four spell, four belt-item and two weapon slots. By default R toggles it, or holding R opens it only while held. You can assign by left-clicking or closing the menu while hovering over the desired slot. The selected item determines the associated quick action, including which potion X consumes. Spell-modification presets are described as a planned addition, so they should not be presented as another verified current slot system.

4. Are skill branches still locked behind the central nodes?

Patch 0.1.3 disconnects the first node of each major branch from the central starter nodes, allowing earlier specialization. It also adds Respec and +1 Skill Point potions: skill-point potions are hidden in the world, while a respec potion is placed on the chart table in Haven. These are current ways to reconsider a setup. The notice does not give an unlimited free-reset rule or a complete future skill tree, so check the actual available node and potion before planning a long route.

5. Is full controller support confirmed here?

The current released patch develops the radial system partly toward controller support, while the August log describes a larger controller update as planned. Neither statement proves that the entire announced support release has shipped. Use current device support information and a later release notice before relying on it. This FAQ explains the verified mouse defaults and radial behavior; a future feature request or work-in-progress screenshot is not a complete present controller mapping.

6. Can I change FOV or automatically equip new items?

Patch 0.1.2 adds FOV under Settings, Game, but calls it experimental and warns of possible issues away from 105. It also adds separate auto-equip settings for generic items, consumables and ingredients, all defaulting off. These are different controls. If an item does not equip itself, check its category and setting before treating it as missing. A FOV change affects presentation, not a remedy for an inventory rule or a requirement to use a particular build.

7. Have all combat and inventory bugs been fixed?

The notes document specific corrections, including item disappearance while dragging or combining stacks in 0.1.2, and weapon hitboxes and input chaining in 0.1.3. They do not guarantee every bug is gone. The later enemy-momentum adjustments explicitly exclude bosses at that point. Record the selected item, action and enemy type if a problem persists. An improvement to ordinary enemies should not be described as a confirmed overhaul of every boss pattern.

8. Is Arena Mode or the new difficulty system playable now?

The August log describes a difficulty system, boss UI work, additional skills and Arena Mode as upcoming work. The Arena plan also discusses progression shared with the campaign without a forced grind, but that is design intent rather than a released rule set. At this source check, use the published 0.1.3 features for practical instructions. This guide does not invent an Arena entrance, unlock requirement or reward formula from the development outlook.

Confirm the installed patch and current binding before using an older control guide. Treat development plans as plans until a release notice confirms them.

Key points

Fatekeeper remains in Early Access. Released patches establish tap/hold attacks, blocking, radial slots and earlier skill access; controller, difficulty and Arena plans need separate release confirmation.
