Fatekeeper Guide: Radial Menu, Respec & Settings

The radial menu, skill potions and revised settings make experimentation easier, but they affect different parts of the session. This guide explains their current behavior and gives a way to diagnose an unexpected input, inventory result or presentation issue without confusing it with an unreleased feature.

Early Access. This guide uses released patches through 0.1.3; August plans for controller support, difficulty, new campaign content and Arena Mode are not verified as released here. Publisher content notice: fantasy violence, blood and dismemberment. Graphic detail is not part of this guide.

1. Understand the two ways to open the radial

The released menu uses R by default. A press toggles it on or off, while holding opens it only for the duration of the hold. Test which method you intend to use before relying on a quick selection under pressure. A toggle that remains open is not necessarily an input fault. Check the binding if you changed it, and keep this present behavior distinct from the controller support update the developers are still discussing in their roadmap.

2. Verify selection before the next quick action

The radial has four spell slots, four belt slots and two weapon slots. You can assign directly with left click or close while hovering over the chosen slot. Check the resulting selection before pressing the associated quick action, including X for the chosen potion. A menu position and the item currently assigned there are different things. This avoids using an unfamiliar consumable just because it occupied that slot in a previous setup or guide.

3. Keep item auto-equip separate from radial assignment

The 0.1.2 update adds individual auto-equip settings for generic items, consumables and ingredients, with all three off by default. Check the appropriate category when a newly obtained item does not automatically become equipped. That setting is not a guarantee that the radial action has selected the same item you intended. Inspect both states after experimenting. The distinction is useful for diagnosis because changing a graphics setting cannot resolve an item-category selection rule.

4. Use the current branch and potion rules for a rebuild

The earlier major-branch access in 0.1.3 changes the route to specialization. Respec potions support rebuilding, and the patch places one on the Haven chart table; +1 Skill Point potions are separate world discoveries. Read what you have and what the current tree permits before accepting a reset. The notice does not establish unlimited potion supplies or an optimal reset threshold. Preserve a clear purpose for the new setup instead of changing the entire tree without a comparison goal.

5. Check rebinding conflicts explicitly

Patch 0.1.1 permits unbinding by using the same key again on an action. Assigning a new key also removes that key from other actions, and the patch resolves conflicts with internal debug inputs. If one action appears to stop working after rebinding another, inspect both current entries. That result may come from the documented reassignment behavior rather than a lost item or skill. Keep default control descriptions separate from the bindings your profile actually uses.

6. Treat FOV as an experimental presentation option

The initial FOV setting is under Settings, Game, and the developer warns that values other than 105 may cause issues in that implementation. Do not present a chosen wide angle as a verified performance fix or an optimal combat setting. Note the value when reproducing a visual problem. If the question is whether an action registered, compare the input and inventory first; a presentation adjustment can alter how the scene looks without explaining a quick-slot assignment.

7. Use the revised settings tools to isolate a change

Patch 0.1.3 reworks scalability and improves Low and Medium presets. It adds resetting only the displayed settings category, shows the highlighted option’s default value and automatically marks modified settings as Custom. These tools make a controlled comparison possible. Keep the same scene and change the relevant category before interpreting a performance difference. Developer improvements are not measured FPS guarantees for every machine, and a Custom label is expected after editing settings.

8. Keep current symptoms and future UI separate

The patch fixes the crosshair remaining visible in Immersive Mode, while the August log discusses boss health bars and status displays as future work. A missing planned display is not necessarily a current bug. Spell-modification presets are likewise planned rather than confirmed released. For a remaining problem, record patch, bound action, selected item and settings category. That identifies what can actually be reproduced now instead of turning a development screenshot into a current instruction.

Key points

Use the radial deliberately, verify auto-equip and rebinding behavior, and rebuild from current skill rules. Treat FOV and performance changes within their stated limits, with future presets and UI kept out of present instructions.
