Prestige and Idle Tips
Apocalypse Inc. is a clean idle game. Here is how to think about managers, prestige timing, and doom spending without overoptimizing.

1Hire the cheapest manager first

The cheapest manager turns on automation soonest. Once one disaster line is automated, your active play moves to the next; eventually everything is on autopilot. Trying to save up for the most expensive manager first delays the moment the game becomes actually idle.

2Prestige when growth stalls, not when you feel like it

Prestige cash is meaningful only when the bonus multiplier outweighs your current run. Most runs hit a clear slowdown where each upgrade costs three times more than the last. That is the right time. Earlier is wasted bonus; later is wasted hours.

3Spend doom on permanent upgrades only

Doom is the prestige currency. Spend it on upgrades that persist across prestiges. Spending doom on a temporary speed boost feels good for one session and is gone forever. Permanent compounding wins every long-term comparison.

4Check in twice a day, then walk away

The game is built for short check-ins. Five minutes morning, five minutes evening. Trying to babysit the game continuously turns an idle game into a chore.

Common mistakes
  • Saving for the most expensive manager first.
  • Prestiging too early before the multiplier matters.
  • Spending doom on temporary boosts.
  • Treating the game as active rather than idle.
  • Skipping the offline gains popup.
Best practices
  • Hire cheapest managers first.
  • Prestige at the growth stall.
  • Save doom for permanent upgrades.
  • Check in twice a day; let idle work do the rest.
  • Claim offline gains every session.
