Beginner Strategy Guide
A focused starter path through Apocalypse Inc.: how to automate quickly, how to time prestige correctly, and how to spend doom for long-term growth.

1What kind of game is Apocalypse Inc.?

An idle clicker tycoon with a dark-comedy doomsday corporation framing. You hire managers, automate disasters, and accumulate cash; you prestige periodically for a multiplier. The gameplay is standard idle. The art and the writing are the differentiator.

2Hire managers as soon as you can

The cheapest manager available is always your priority purchase. Until a disaster line is automated, you have to tap it; once it is automated, your active play moves to the next disaster. Aim to have every disaster line automated as soon as possible; that is when the game stops being active and starts being idle.

3Push the current run until growth stalls

Idle math always slows. Each upgrade costs more than the last; income scales but cost scales faster. When upgrades start taking minutes apiece and the next major unlock is far away, that is the moment to prestige. Earlier is wasted bonus; later is wasted time.

4Spend doom only on permanent upgrades

Doom is the prestige currency. Permanent upgrades compound across every future prestige. Temporary speed boosts feel good once and then they are gone. Treat doom as long-term currency; if a purchase does not survive a prestige, skip it.

5Use offline gains; do not babysit

The game rewards short check-ins, not constant attention. Open the app, claim offline gains, do whatever upgrades are now cheap enough, then close it. Two or three short sessions per day will outproduce a single long session of staring at numbers.

6Spend ad-watch rewards strategically

Ads usually offer brief multipliers or a chunk of free doom. Watch them when you have time to capitalize on the multiplier; skip them when you are about to put the phone down. Watching an ad and immediately closing the app wastes the bonus window.

7Common beginner mistakes

Common mistakes
  • Saving for the most expensive manager before the cheapest.
  • Prestiging too early because progress felt slow.
  • Spending doom on temporary boosts.
  • Babysitting the game continuously.
  • Watching an ad multiplier and immediately closing the app.
Best practices
  • Hire the cheapest manager available, always.
  • Push runs until growth stalls before prestige.
  • Spend doom on permanent compounding upgrades.
  • Check in twice a day; trust idle progress.
  • Watch ads when you can use the multiplier.
