33 Immortals is a co-op action roguelike from Thunder Lotus, the studio behind Spiritfarer. Drawing on Dante's Divine Comedy, you play a damned soul who rebels against God and fights through Hell, Purgatory and Heaven alongside up to 32 other players. Wikipedia lists an early access start on 18 March 2025 and the full 1.0 release on 10 June 2026, on Windows and Xbox Series X and S. This page answers common questions before buying. For how a run works, see the beginner guide, and for realms, bosses and achievements, see the realms page.
1 What kind of game is it
A top-down action roguelike built like a raid. The store describes large co-op battles against hordes of monsters and massive bosses, with randomized enemies, encounters, rewards and builds so every run is different. Between runs you unlock permanent upgrades for your soul, new weapons, relics and powers.
2 Can you play alone
You can join alone, but you will not be alone. The store says you jump straight into live runs with instant matchmaking and no lobbies, either solo or with a party of up to four friends. Runs are shared with other players, and both requirement tiers list a broadband connection. Inside a run, LadiesGamers says you can stick with large groups for safety in numbers or wander off and tackle objectives on your own.
3 How long is a run
Short. Wikipedia describes sessions comparable to raid missions in MMOs, lasting around 25 minutes, and the store talks about streamlined raids built for fast sessions. TheSixthAxis explains the shape: players roam together at the start, fighting enemies and opening chests and amphorae to level up during the run, before Ascension Battles lead to a boss fight.
4 Do you need voice chat
No. The store says no voice chat is required: you coordinate with in-game emotes, pings, shared objectives and cooperative abilities. Each weapon has a co-op ability that, according to LadiesGamers and TheSixthAxis, places a marker other players activate for a group effect. That design lets 33 strangers cooperate without talking.
5 The three realms at 1.0
TheSixthAxis reviewed the 1.0 release on PC and describes three realms, each with its own player count and boss.
| Realm | Players | Boss |
|---|---|---|
| Inferno | 33 | Lucifer |
| Purgatorio | 22 | Adam and Eve |
| Paradiso | 11 | Wrath of God |
The player count shrinks as you ascend, so later realms ask more of each individual. The realms page explains each in more detail.
6 What reviewers and players said
| Source | Verdict |
|---|---|
| TheSixthAxis | 7 out of 10. Captures the feel of MMO raids in short runs; a lot of grinding and limited boss variety |
| LadiesGamers | I Like it a Lot. Works far better than expected, though experienced players sometimes steamroll content newer players struggle with |
| Steam users | Mostly Positive, 1,710 of 2,361 reviews positive (15 September 2026) |
7 Price, languages and requirements
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Quad core 2.4 GHz | Quad core 2.6 GHz |
| Memory | 8 GB | 12 GB |
| GPU | GTX 950, R7 360 or HD 630, 2 GB | GTX 2060, RX 5600 XT or Arc A770, 4 GB |
| Other | Windows 10, DirectX 11, broadband, 5 GB | Same |
The store showed USD 14.89 when checked, while LadiesGamers quoted USD 14.99, so confirm the current price. The recommended GPU line reads GTX 2060, which is how the store lists it. Twelve languages are supported, including Japanese and both forms of Chinese, with full audio in English, and the store lists 12 add-on items and cross-platform multiplayer.
33 Immortals is a co-op action roguelike from Thunder Lotus, inspired by the Divine Comedy, that reached 1.0 on 10 June 2026. You drop into live runs of about 25 minutes, alone or with up to four friends, alongside up to 32 others, and cooperate through emotes, pings and co-op abilities rather than voice chat. The three realms scale from 33 to 11 players. Reviews were positive but noted grinding and repetitive bosses. It needs an internet connection and modest hardware.
