Completing VHOLUME means two things: reaching the end of the main levels, and then beating their target times. This page lays out the medal structure confirmed by the Steam achievement list, the level elements the Guardian describes, and the extras around the game such as the demo and Workshop. Ten achievements show their conditions and four are hidden; the hidden ones are named but not explained. For movement technique, see the beginner guide.
1 The medal tiers
| Tier | On any level | On every main level |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze time | Just in time | Never late |
| Silver time | A moment behind | Model Citizen |
| Gold time | A fleeting second | The way ahead |
The wording matters: the single-level achievements accept any level, while the full-set achievements specify main levels. Workshop and special levels may therefore count for the first group without being required for the second, although the list does not say this outright.
2 Level elements
The Guardian noted that the balance between the designer fun and the player fun was more even in early stages, meaning the busier late levels can feel less generous. Expect more attempts per medal there.
3 Demo, Workshop and leaderboards
| Extra | Detail and source |
|---|---|
| Demo | Four levels, rated Overwhelmingly Positive before launch (Game*Spark) |
| Steam Workshop | Play community levels or build your own (store) |
| Leaderboards | Worldwide rankings (the Guardian, Steam) |
| Add-on | The store lists one; its content is not described in these sources |
4 All 14 achievements
| Group | Achievements and conditions |
|---|---|
| Progress | Only the wind (finish every main level) |
| Medals, one level | Just in time (bronze), A moment behind (silver), A fleeting second (gold) |
| Medals, every main level | Never late (bronze), Model Citizen (silver), The way ahead (gold) |
| People | Familiar Face (talk to someone), Who's left ? (talk to everyone) |
| Speed | Case closed (reach terminal velocity) |
| Hidden | Distant memory, The shape of absence, Quiet decay, Fishpaste (conditions not shown) |
The names above are written exactly as Steam shows them, including the space before the question mark. The hidden names sound tied to the story and the city, so they are left for you to discover.
5 The hardest ones
Who's left ? is the other one that is easy to miss, since it asks you to talk to everyone. Because racing past people is natural once you chase times, it is best done on an early, relaxed playthrough.
6 An order for completion
Finish every main level, talk to everyone you meet, and pick up any bronze times that come naturally.
Return level by level; build speed until terminal velocity comes on its own.
Use ghosts and leaderboards to find shortcuts, and finish the full gold set last.
Each level has bronze, silver and gold target times, with achievements for beating each tier once and for every main level. Later levels add jump pads, maze-like special levels and moving parts. A four-level demo, Steam Workshop and worldwide leaderboards surround the game. Of the 14 achievements, 10 show conditions and 4 are hidden. Play the story first while talking to everyone, then build medal sets from bronze up to the full gold set.
