The developer warns that flashing lights may be unsuitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitive conditions. An option to disable flashy explosion effects is available, but the developer has not described it as removing the warning or making the game safe for photosensitive players.
1 What is Astro Prospector
Incrementalist describes it as an incremental bullet hell about mining cofferoids and fighting the evil SpaceCorp. You collect resources, upgrade your ship, and become unstoppable.
The premise is deliberately silly: the galaxy runs on coffee, SpaceCorp controls the fields, and you are stealing the seeds back for humanity. The mechanics underneath are serious enough, and it is that combination which explains why a game at this price gathered thousands of reviews.
2 Two modes, two very different games
This is the thing most buyers miss. A free update called Endless Coffee added a second mode that plays nothing like the original one, and both ship in the same purchase.
| Mode | Shape | Content |
|---|---|---|
| Story Mode | Incremental progression across a fixed campaign | 25 zones with unique enemies and bosses, 200 or more upgrades, around 5 hours |
| Endless Coffee | A survivors style ship builder roguelite | 9 ships, 5 new weapons, 420 or more upgrades, survive 21 Days then go endless |
If you bounce off one of them, try the other before refunding. The story mode is a short structured campaign; Endless Coffee is the mode people put dozens of hours into.
3 The photosensitivity warning
The developer places a warning directly on the store page, and it deserves repeating rather than burying.
4 How long does it last
The developer gives story mode as a short and intense experience of roughly five hours, and describes Endless Coffee as dozens of hours of playtime with clever combinations to find.
These are developer estimates rather than a promised completion time. Exploration, retries and how far you continue in Endless Coffee can change the total.
5 Price, platform and achievements
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Released | 14 July 2025 |
| List price | USD 4.99 |
| Developer | Incrementalist, published with SpaceJazz |
| Platform | Windows only |
| Achievements | 43, with Steam Cloud and stats |
| Languages | Eleven, all listed with full audio support |
Eleven fully supported languages on a five dollar indie game is unusual and worth noting if English is not your first language.
6 Controls and comfort options
Full controller support is listed, including DualShock and DualSense, and there is also a mouse only option. For a bullet hell that is a genuine choice rather than a formality, since aiming and dodging feel very different on each.
Camera Comfort and Playable without Timed Input are store accessibility labels. They do not document every setting or make bullet-heavy combat effortless; check the in-game controls and effects options.
7 System requirements
Extremely light. The minimum is Windows 10, a 2 GHz processor, 4 GB of memory, Vulkan 1.0 support and 500 MB of storage. The recommended entry asks for a 3.5 GHz processor, the same 4 GB of memory and 1 GB of storage.
There is no named graphics card on either tier, only the Vulkan requirement. Check Vulkan support and the listed specifications for the actual machine; release notes also document performance work for longer runs.
8 Is it an idle game
No. Incremental in this case describes the progression, not the input. Numbers grow steeply and upgrades compound, but you are actively flying, mining and dodging bullets the whole time.
If you came for a game to leave running in the background, this is not it. If you like the satisfaction curve of an incremental game but want to actually play during it, that combination is precisely what this offers.
Current fixes, comfort settings and achievements
Endless Coffee is already available as a free update, not an upcoming playtest. Its 24 November 2025 release added the separate mode and a setting that disables flashy explosion effects. The store warning still applies; camera-comfort and effects options should not be interpreted as a medical safety guarantee.
The 28 November Patch 1 removed the Speedrun and Deathless-run achievements. A guide asking you to finish those two achievements is outdated. The current store API reports 43 achievements; use the current Steam list when planning completion rather than an old challenge checklist.
For long Endless runs, Patch 3 on 20 January 2026 improves late-run performance and recommends disabling Show Damage Numbers for further improvement. Patch 2 fixes settings not persisting between sessions. If a preference appears to reset, first confirm the game has received that update.
The minimum Vulkan requirement and small download do not prove that any recent computer will run it. Compare the listed requirements with your own hardware and drivers; late Endless runs and the shorter Story campaign are different performance workloads.

A five dollar incremental bullet hell about mining coffee asteroids and fighting a corporation, containing two distinct modes: a roughly five hour story campaign across 25 zones, and a survivors style roguelite called Endless Coffee with nine ships and over 420 upgrades. It is Windows only, has 43 achievements, eleven fully supported languages, and requires compatible Vulkan graphics. It carries a flashing lights warning that anyone with photosensitivity should take seriously.
