Between fights, Beast of Reincarnation is an exploration game with rest points, shrines, platforming and collectibles. Its Steam achievement list is mostly hidden: only 8 of 46 carry a visible description. This page explains how exploration works, lists the described achievements, and summarises the hidden ones only as far as their public names go, without story detail. Exploration facts come from RPG Site, RPGFan and TheSixthAxis.

1 How the world is laid out

The world is divided into regions. RPGFan counts about a dozen areas that vary in how linear they are, and RPG Site describes a mix of open zones and linear stretches. Environments range from crumbling buildings and greenery to mountains and caves. RPG Site highlights the quiet exploration between fights, which yields upgrade materials, hidden bosses and healing shrines.

✕ Reviewer complaints
  • Invisible walls in odd places (RPGFan)
  • Areas that look alike (RPG Site)
  • Repetitive mid game stretch
◯ Why explore anyway
  • Upgrade materials
  • Hidden bosses and elite enemies
  • Healing shrines and campsites

2 Campsites and shrines

Campsites are your rest points and upgrade hub. RPG Site describes them as the place to heal and to upgrade stats. Shrines are a separate discovery. Three described achievements belong here.

AchievementRequirement
First FireDiscover your first campsite
Place of ReturnDiscover your first shrine
Happy CamperDiscover every campsite
✓
Check side paths in every area Happy Camper needs every campsite, and a campsite you skip is also an upgrade stop you lose. A quick look down side routes pays twice.

3 Traversal

RPG Site describes Emma using extending hair to build bridges and climb vertically, along with grapple based movement. RPGFan notes platforming woven into exploration, with platforming challenges among the side content. When a path seems blocked, look for a point your traversal abilities can reach before assuming it is a dead end, while keeping in mind RPGFan's warning about invisible walls.

4 Companions, research and cooking

RPG Site describes several support systems beyond combat.

Affinity
Bonds with companions unlock conversations and rewards.
Koo research
Koo researches combat skills and craftable items.
Cooking
A character named Kagura researches recipes and ingredient yields.

Several hidden achievement names point at these systems, such as ones about snacks, busy paws, a best friend and a gourmand, so investing in bonds, research and cooking is likely part of full completion.

5 Nushi bosses

RPG Site names the elite bosses Nushi, and TheSixthAxis describes them as gigantic creatures with vine tendrils and organic growths that end each area. The store says Emma and Koo capture their powers. Six hidden achievements follow a pattern of a Latin sounding name followed by End: Rangifer, Lacerta, Taurus, Corvus, Ursa and Erymanth. Those words refer to a reindeer, a lizard, a bull, a crow, a bear and the Erymanthian boar of myth, which fits a roster of blighted animal bosses.

Expect rematches
RPG Site says some bosses are fought up to three times with small changes, and RPGFan says at least three and sometimes six. Learning a boss properly the first time saves effort later.

6 The achievements

Only these eight achievements show a description on Steam.

AchievementRequirement
First FireDiscover your first campsite
Blight-TouchedEnhance an attribute for the first time
Place of ReturnDiscover your first shrine
Green ThumbObtain every type of seedling
Manual ManiacObtain the manuals for every arrow and bolt type
Blade CollectorObtain every blade
Happy CamperDiscover every campsite
Duty FulfilledUnlock every achievement

The other 38 are hidden. Beyond the six boss names and the companion themed names mentioned above, many clearly track story progress, and a few such as Blade Enthusiast, Blademaster and Munitions Master appear to follow weapon collection. Because four of the described achievements are about collecting every campsite, seedling, manual and blade, a thorough first playthrough makes completion much easier than a rushed one.

Summary

Beast of Reincarnation spans about a dozen areas mixing open zones and linear routes, with campsites for healing and upgrades, shrines, hair bridges, grappling and platforming. Companion affinity, Koo's research and Kagura's cooking add support systems. Nushi bosses end areas and return for rematches, and six hidden achievements name them after animals. Only 8 of 46 achievements are described, and four of those ask you to collect every campsite, seedling, ammo manual and blade, so explore thoroughly the first time.
